Windicator and Wind Gauge:

If Sambar get one whiff of your scent THEY'RE GONE!!!

So you must know precisely where your scent is travelling to.

That's why I use a "Windicator" - a small plastic bottle with a pop-up dispenser filled with white powder. The cap screws off so it can be refilled with brick layers chalk, available from hardware stores.

Alternatively you could use Crooked Horn Outfitters "Wind Gauge" - a small plastic bottle with a dispenser filled with a substance which when shaken, produces a "puff of smoke". The smoke carries better in light thermals than powder, but unlike the "Windicator" the "Wind Gauge" cannot be refilled.
